Skode's Horse Treats started the low-sugar horse treat revolution in 2006 with it extensive line of minimally processed, human-grade whole food and herbal horse treats.
The inspiration: We noticed that virtually every packaged horse treat was loaded with molasses, grains, wheats and all kinds of other fillers - and then literally processed to death in high-heat ovens.
We knew our own horses needed and craved REAL "LIVE" WHOLE FOODS. And when we did our research, we realized every other horse on the planet does, too!

Each of those ingredients is human grade -- or even better -- "Certified Organic." You could actually eat our Apple Pie cookies!

That's why we take the time to dehydrate, as opposed to bake our treats.
Commercial baking in high-heat ovens may be the fastest and cheapest way to produce a horse treat. However, at Skode's, we believe your horse deserves better.
That's why we take the time to slow bake our treats at very low temperatures. Sometimes this means a 38-hour turn-around just to dehyrate an order. We don't mind. This is how we retain those wonderfully nutritious constituents found found in those real, live, whole foods.
